Strawberry freezer jam is a necessity in our house. It's one of the recipes that I contributed to our little family. My mom makes freezer jam and I can remember Grandma Foster making freezer jam. A couple of months ago we finished our very last container of jam and it was a SAD day when we had to buy a jar from the store. It did not taste anything like jam is supposed to taste. A few weeks ago while I was away for the night at our church's women's retreat David discovered that Meijer was running a Super Saturday sale on strawberries and they were only $1/pound. So he stocked up. He stocked up in a very Gafford way and bought 15 pounds of strawberries! We got to spend a couple of hours the next day teaching Addison how to make freezer jam. (We did NOT make all 15 pounds into jam. That would have been ridiculous... a little. We also froze some for smoothies.)
