Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  We made these cute little Nutella/Strawberry pop tarts for breakfast today.  I actually made them last night and left them in the fridge overnight to pop in the oven this morning.  They were pretty tasty and it was fun having something thematic to eat for breakfast.  :-)

Here's the card Addison made for Daddy.

She signed her name on the inside all by herself.  How adorable is that?

We met Daddy for lunch at Qdoba since they are running a BOGO if you share a kiss today.

After that Addison and I stopped by the park for a short little play time.  The temps were nice but the wind really cooled things down and Addison didn't have her mittens or hat with her.  It was fun and we pretty much had the entire playground to ourselves.  One other little boy came just before we left.

When we got home, these were waiting on the counter for me!  My sweetie snuck them in while we were out playing!  :-)

For your entertainment...

Do yourself a favor and watch this video.  It is so cute and so creative and just plain adorable.

Today's status update :)

Check out Addison's fun Valentine's hairdo. Thank you Pinterest for cute ideas like this.

Also, Addison bowled her first solo game on the wii this morning while I was getting ready. I was pretty impressed with how well she did in spite of her "interesting" form throwing the ball. (Thanks Uncle Matt for the tip on rubber banding the B button down.)

Adios Facebook

Though I've never given anything up for lent before, I am personally feeling led to give up Facebook for this season. It's too easily accessible on my phone and I find myself habitually pulling it up WAY too many times a day. What if I habitually pulled up my Bible app instead when I feel that urge? I will be deleting the FB app momentarily.

Facebook has been a very valuable tool to stay connected with family and friends from afar as well as share updates and pictures of Addison with her birth family. I hope to continue to share those same cute pictures and funny anecdotes through our blog which will automatically link to Facebook. I will not however log in to Facebook obsessively to see if anyone "liked" or commented on my post. ☺ If you read a blog post through FB, feel free to leave your comment right on the blog where I will actually see it.

I don't expect this to be easy. That's the ridiculous part. (I'm just certain that I'm going to miss out on all kinds of valuable information and big announcements!). And that's why it's important for me to part ways with FB for a while. Adios Facebook. See you after Easter...

A Fun Day Out

We enjoyed another fun day at The Children's Museum today. We got to try out the new gecko exhibit. Addison tried to crawl with gecko feet (Velcro on them), but concluded they were too sticky. Tried as she might, she could not pull them up off the carpet!

Pretending she's a doggie...

Sleeping in the special bed-box we built.

We made a portrait of Daddy.

Addison spelled/wrote my name all by herself.

Digging for dinosaur bones.

Picking up pebbles.....

And returning them to the dinosaur dig site. (Why doesn't she clean up like this at home?)

Keeping her Dino-eggs warm.

Riding the carousel.

Floating her boat in the water.

Taking a break to be a couch potato.

"Maybe Grandpa can build this at MY house!"

Thank you, thank you to grandma, grandpa, and Aunt Gayla for our membership! We're getting a LOT of use out of it!
