I lost my job yesterday.
My administrator called me in to talk about a change in teaching assignment. The bad news was that due to low enrollment they had to cut my section of 4th grade for the coming year. The "good news" was that they had an 8th grade Bible class available for me to teach. If you know me at all, that was not good news. I've never been interested in teaching middle school. In fact, I've always avoided it like the plague. To top it off, this pastor's daughter never did very well in her college Bible courses. I believe I got C's, in fact. If I accepted that position, I would regret it every day of the week. So I declined. He seemed to be shocked. For some reason he thought that would be good news for me. I can't fathom why. I have no training whatsoever for that position.
So I am now unemployed and waiting for God to reveal why in the world losing my job is part of the plan.

I understand your frustration. I lost my job in April but the Lord did put something in my path. It isn't what I enjoy doing but I LOVE the hours and the freedom to come and go as I choose.
We will be prayig for you.....
When God closes one door he opens another - now you have the exciting job of finding that new door! Will be praying that it will be an easy search!
things happen for a reason....now you need to see what that reason is. Praying in NJ!
Girl, I understand completely about not wanting to teach middle school. I'll be praying for you!
Hey, I just tagged you on my site if you want something to get your mind off of this. www.jessicasheets.com for more instructions!
Ugh. I remember being laid off after my first full-time year. Initial reaction: devastation (we were about to have our first baby). But, I got called back for 1/2 time which was perfect for me as a new mom. And by the end of the 2nd year God had really changed my heart and I was ready to resign altogether and just raise my family. Five years and a lot less money later, I can see that it was all meant to be. I hope you find some answers and some peace. Take care, and just trust Him in the meantime. Let us know of any new developments!
